About the App
MILD for Kodi is a personal Google Cloud project that lets the YouTube add-on for Kodi sign in to my own YouTube account, so I can browse my subscriptions and playlists and watch YouTube on the television at home.
It is a single-user, non-commercial setup. There is nothing to download or sign up for here, and the App is not available to the public. How the App handles data is described in the privacy policy below.
Privacy Policy
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers the Google Cloud project and OAuth client published under the name MILD (the “App”) and the websites www.mild.land and kodi.mild.land. The App is operated by Ludwig Mild, who is also its only intended user.
The App is not a public service. It exists solely so that I can watch my own YouTube content on my own Kodi media centre at home, using the YouTube add-on for Kodi. It is not offered, marketed or distributed to anyone else.
2. What data the App accesses
When I sign in with my Google account through the Kodi YouTube add-on, the App requests access to the YouTube Data API on my behalf. Depending on the permissions granted, this may include:
- basic account information needed to sign in (such as my Google account identifier);
- my YouTube subscriptions, playlists, liked videos and watch history;
- the ability to manage my own YouTube account from Kodi, for example rating a video or adding it to a playlist.
The App only accesses this data when I actively use Kodi.
3. How the data is used
The data is used for one purpose only: to display and play my YouTube content in Kodi and to let me interact with my own account from the television. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, machine learning or any other purpose.
4. Where the data is stored
The App has no server and no database. OAuth access and refresh tokens, settings and any cached content are stored locally on my own Kodi device at home. No YouTube or Google account data is sent to, or stored on, www.mild.land, kodi.mild.land or any other system operated by me.
5. Sharing
Data accessed through the App is not sold, rented, transferred or disclosed to any third party. The only parties involved are Google (as the provider of YouTube and its APIs) and my own Kodi device.
6. Google API Services User Data Policy
The App’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The App also uses YouTube API Services and is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Retention and deletion
Tokens remain on the Kodi device until I sign out of the YouTube add-on, remove the add-on or revoke access. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately invalidates the App’s tokens. Removing the add-on deletes the locally stored data.
8. This website
www.mild.land and kodi.mild.land are static personal web pages hosted on Cloudflare Pages. They have no user accounts, set no tracking cookies and do not collect personal data. As the hosting provider, Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs to deliver and protect the sites, in accordance with Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
9. Children
The App is not directed at children and is used only by its adult operator.
10. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Questions about this policy can be sent to mail@mild.land.
